Windows Update or Windows setup
0x80070070
Not enough disk space
Windows needs more free space on the drive used for the update.
TRY THIS FIRST
Check your free space
Open PowerShell and paste this command.
Read-only · No administrator access needed
Get-PSDrive -Name ($env:SystemDrive.TrimEnd(':')) | Select-Object Name, @{Name='FreeGB';Expression={[math]::Round($_.Free / 1GB, 1)}}Result: FreeGB shows the space available on your Windows drive.
Still not working?
Open Settings → System → Storage and review cleanup recommendations. Remove only files you recognise and have backed up, then retry the update. Use the space requirement shown by Windows; there is no single minimum for every update.
Check the result: The same update finishes without the disk-space error.

Choose the entry that matches where the error appeared. A code alone does not identify every cause. Commands are copied for you to review; this page does not run them.
