Graphics settings
How does resolution affect game performance?
Resolution is the number of pixels in each image. Rendering more pixels can increase graphics workload, especially on the GPU.
QUICK EXPLANATION
Match the game output to the display's native resolution
A higher resolution can look sharper on a suitable display but may reduce frame rate. Results depend on the game, graphics settings and hardware.
Resolution is only one part of image quality and performance.
Result: Changing resolution may alter GPU workload and visual sharpness; it does not guarantee a fixed FPS change.
How to check it
If performance is low, compare one lower resolution in the same scene. Restore native resolution if the visual trade-off is not worthwhile.
Check: Compare frame time and image quality at the same location, with other settings unchanged.
