Starting a Windows service
Error 1058
The service cannot be started
The service is disabled, or it has no enabled device associated with it.
TRY THIS FIRST
Check the service's startup setting
Press Windows + R, type services.msc and press Enter. Find the service named in the error, then open its properties.
Viewing properties changes nothing
Result: Look at Startup type and Service status. Note the service name before changing anything.
Still not working?
Confirm the expected startup setting with the software vendor or your IT team. Some services are deliberately disabled. Only enable the affected service when you know it should run; do not enable every stopped service.
Check the result: Start the intended service and retry the operation. If it fails again, record the new error.
