Terms for Hanki Pro and Technician

These terms cover the paid Hanki Pro and Hanki Technician editions. The free edition of Hanki Tools is covered only by its PolyForm Noncommercial license.

Who you’re buying from

Hanki Tools is made by Iikka Isosaari in Finland. Purchases are handled by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record: Polar takes the payment, charges VAT where it applies and sends your receipt and licence key. Polar’s own terms also apply to the payment.

What a licence key gives you

The source code is available under the PolyForm Noncommercial license. A licence key doesn’t change that, and it doesn’t limit what that license allows.

The licence check

When you activate a key, Hanki sends the key to Polar to check it, with a label such as “Windows PC, activated 2026-09-23”. No scan results, files, PC names or user names are sent. A Pro key is checked once. A Technician subscription is checked about once a week; if Hanki can’t reach Polar, it keeps working for up to 30 days after the last successful check. The key is stored in Windows Credential Manager for your Windows account. See the privacy information for everything the app sends.

Refunds

If Pro or Technician isn’t right for you, email hello@hanki.tools or request a refund through Polar within 14 days of buying, and you’ll get your money back. After a refund, the key stops working. This doesn’t affect any other rights you have under consumer law.

What Hanki can and can’t promise

Hanki shows what Windows reports and explains it in plain language. It can’t guarantee that a PC is healthy or that a repair fixes a problem, and repairs change Windows system files, so keep backups of anything important. The software is provided “as is”, as described in the PolyForm Noncommercial license. To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to the price you paid. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

Support

Questions and problems: hello@hanki.tools, the Hanki Discord or GitHub issues. Support is given as time allows, usually within a few working days.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top shows the latest version. A change never takes away something you’ve already paid for.
