HANKI MAINTAIN

Choose what starts with Windows.

Use Hanki Tools to review supported startup entries and Startup-folder shortcuts, understand their target and scope, and make a deliberate change with an undo route where supported.

Two places to review startup in Hanki

Check the exact program path and scope before changing an entry. Machine-wide changes may require Windows administrator approval. These views cover supported startup mechanisms; they are not a complete inventory of every way software can launch automatically.

Make one change, then compare

  1. Identify the app. Decide whether you need it at sign-in. Leave an unfamiliar entry alone until you understand its purpose.
  2. Review the proposed change. Check that the target and user or machine scope match what you intended.
  3. Test the next sign-in. Note whether the desktop settles sooner and whether the app still opens when you need it.
  4. Use the right undo route. Return to Startup entries for registry entries or Recovery for supported Startup-folder changes. Read any conflict before restoring an older value.

Disabling an entry does not uninstall the application. Backup, accessibility, security and work-management software may need to start automatically. A shorter startup list is not automatically a better one.

Hanki guided checks for My PC is slow
The guided slow-PC check puts startup review alongside other possible causes. This is the guided-check screen; the startup controls are in Maintain.

When Windows' own startup settings are enough

For a simple change, start with Settings → Apps → Startup or Task Manager → Startup apps. Hanki is useful when you want supported registry and folder review alongside the rest of your maintenance tools and their recovery records.

Startup management addresses what launches at sign-in. It does not promise a faster PC in every workload. If the machine stays slow long after signing in, investigate diagnostics and guided checks or read the memory and pagefile guide.
