Editions: Community, Pro and Technician
Hanki Community is free for noncommercial use. Planned Pro and Technician editions add scheduled checks, automatic repairs and customer reports.
Hanki Community is free for noncommercial use and source-available under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. Commercial use needs a separate license. Releases published before the change to this license remain available under the MIT license they were published with. Released builds are Community builds. Paid editions are planned but not on sale yet; see Pro and Technician for prices and availability.

Paid features are added on top. Nothing free moves behind a paid edition, and Hanki shows no upgrade prompts at startup.
How a licence will work
- Enter a licence key on the Hanki Pro page. The key is kept in Windows Credential Manager for your account.
- Activating, checking or removing a key contacts Polar's licence API with the key and a label such as "Windows PC, activated 2026-09-23". No scan results, files, PC names or user names are sent.
- A Pro key is checked once. A Technician licence is checked about once a week when Hanki starts, and works offline for up to 30 days.
- Scheduled checks (Pro) use a Windows Task Scheduler task for your account that runs the same read-only scan, without network probes or repairs.
